Sustainability

At Pettitt’s, we are conscious of our responsibility to our environment, and our shoppers.

We have installed over 1,200 Solar PV Panels throughout our 6 stores & Sleedagh Farm Production Facility. These state of the art units provide us with approximately 25% of our electrical needs, helping us to create a more environmentally friendly shopping environment.

Between 2021-2023 we have installed doors-to-fridges in all 6 of our stores, along with St. Aidan’s, Arklow & Bray operating with the latest in CO2 refrigeration, enabling us to avoid over 500 tonnes of CO2 yearly, the equivalent of planting over 35,000 trees per store SuperValu has committed to our produce having 100% recyclable packaging by the end of 2025.

Changes such as these allow us to create a greener shopping experience for our customers, where they can trust in our pledge to be a responsible, environmentally conscious business.
